Athens Police Arrest Five in Connection with Nine Eatery Burglaries

Athens police have apprehended five individuals believed to be part of a gang responsible for a string of burglaries targeting food establishments in the city center. The arrests followed a swift investigation into nine separate break-ins that occurred over a mere ten-day period.

The targeted businesses included various eateries and fast-food restaurants located in key central Athens neighborhoods such as Syntagma, Kolonaki, and Exarchia. The gang's modus operandi involved breaking into these establishments to steal.

Security camera footage obtained by ERT provides a visual record of the group's activities, documenting their entry into and actions within the targeted premises. This video evidence is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
