Ba one win away from EPL glory

Dayal's Sawmillers Ba is on the cusp of securing the Extra Premier League title, holding a significant advantage after a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Extra Supermarket Labasa at Subrail Park.

The crucial win propelled Ba to 36 points in the standings, extending their lead over second-placed Labasa to four points with only two rounds left in the season. This result places Ba in a dominant position to claim a record-extending 22nd league championship.

Ba's path to glory is now clear: a victory against Tailevu Naitasiri FC next weekend will seal the title. The match against Labasa saw an early setback when Rex Naime scored for Labasa in the 3rd minute. However, Ba responded with Nabil Begg converting a penalty in first-half injury time. The decisive blow came in the 93rd minute when Etonio Dogalau netted the winning goal, securing the vital three points for Ba.

In other league action, Tagimoucia Nadi FC secured a critical 3-2 win over Nasinu FC, bolstering their chances of Premier League survival. Meanwhile, Labasa managed to end Ba's unbeaten run in the Digicel Fiji FA Women's Super League with a resounding 6-1 victory, closing the gap at the top of the women's standings.
