Bali Customs Foils Smuggling of 10 Kilograms of Marijuana from Thailand

Authorities at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport have thwarted a significant drug smuggling attempt, arresting two Indian citizens carrying over 10 kilograms of marijuana. The suspects, identified as a manager and a teacher, arrived on a flight from Koh Samui, Thailand, via Singapore. Customs officials became suspicious after analyzing X-ray images and risk management data of their luggage. A thorough inspection revealed numerous packages of dried, greenish-brown plant material hidden within their suitcases. Subsequent laboratory tests confirmed the substance as marijuana, totaling 10.310 kilograms gross. The suspects reportedly claimed they were on a three-day holiday and obtained the drugs in Thailand, attempting to disguise them as food souvenirs.
