Over the past two months, from March to April 2026, enforcement actions across strategic locations in Aceh resulted in the seizure of 101,520 batang of various cigarette brands that flouted regulations.

These illicit goods were found to be either missing the mandatory excise stamps or were brought in by passengers exceeding the permitted allowances, highlighting a clear disregard for Indonesian customs and excise laws. The operation targeted key areas, including courier service providers, market sweeps, and scrutiny of passenger baggage at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, ensuring a comprehensive approach to curbing the illegal trade.
