Bersatu Confident of Winning 11 State Seats in Negeri Sembilan Election

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has expressed strong confidence in securing victory in 11 out of the 24 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats it is contesting in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election. Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, the Chairman of the Negeri Sembilan Bersatu Leadership Council, stated that this target is informed by the party's observations of current campaign dynamics, especially in direct contests with Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

While acknowledging that the first week of campaigning is too early for a comprehensive assessment, Hanifah noted that approximately nine to 11 seats are showing positive momentum as of the fifth day of the campaign. He expressed optimism that if this momentum is sustained and amplified, the number of potentially winnable seats could increase. Hanifah also highlighted the strength of Bersatu's campaign machinery, emphasizing that it is fully driven by local members.

Addressing concerns about Bersatu's participation potentially splitting Malay votes in 21 three-cornered contests involving Pakatan Harapan (PH) and PN-BN, Hanifah asserted the party's right to contest any seat following perceived political betrayals. He refuted the notion that Bersatu is interfering with Malay votes, stating clearly that the party has no political cooperation with BN. This stance reflects Bersatu's independent political trajectory in the current electoral landscape.

The party's strategy appears focused on leveraging local support and capitalizing on perceived political shifts. The confidence expressed by its leadership suggests an active and determined campaign effort aimed at maximizing its electoral gains in Negeri Sembilan.
