Brazilian Yan Couto joins Como on loan from Borussia Dortmund

Italian club Como 1907 announced the signing of Brazilian international full-back Yan Couto on loan from Borussia Dortmund for the 2026/27 season. The 24-year-old player brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for clubs such as Manchester City, Girona, Braga, and Borussia Dortmund.

Couto's career began in his native Brazil with Coritiba before his move to Manchester City in 2020. He has since gained valuable experience in various European leagues, including Spain's La Liga, Portugal's Primeira Liga, and Germany's Bundesliga. He also has experience in top-tier competitions like the Champions League, Europa League, and the Club World Cup. Internationally, Couto was part of the Brazil squad that won the U-17 World Cup in 2019 and made his senior debut in 2023.

Como's coach, Cesc Fàbregas, described Couto as a "brave and technically strong player" who will offer multiple options on the right flank. "He likes to play forward, has a lot of energy, and adapts well to our style of play," Fàbregas stated. "He is still young but already has important experience, and we believe he can continue to grow with us."

The player himself expressed his happiness with the move, stating, "I really like the team's style of play and philosophy, and I hope to be able to contribute to its improvement. I think this is an important step in my career and I am eager to start."
