Brigjen Untung Widyatmoko Appointed Head of Indonesian Police International Relations Division

Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko has been appointed as the new Head of the International Relations Division (Kadivhubinter) of the Indonesian National Police, according to a Telegram letter dated July 30, 2026. This promotion is part of a broader reshuffling affecting 146 high-ranking and middle-ranking police officers.

Untung succeeds Inspector General Amur Chandra Juli Buana, who has been moved to a senior position within Divhubinter Polri in preparation for his retirement. The Inspector General had previously held the Kadivhubinter position before Untung took over as Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia Divhubinter on July 2, 2024. Brigadier General Dani Hamdani, formerly the Chief Translator II at Divhubinter Polri, will now fill Untung's previous role as Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia.

During his time as Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia, Brigjen Untung Widyatmoko achieved notable successes in tracking and apprehending international fugitives. In 2025 alone, Interpol Indonesia issued 35 red notices for wanted individuals, including those involved in corruption cases like Mohammad Riza Chalid and Jurist Tan. Notable repatriations under his watch include Adrian Asharyanto Gunadi, former CEO of Investree, who was apprehended in Qatar, and Michael Steven, the Kresna Life boss, captured in Morocco.

Most recently, Brigjen Untung and his team successfully apprehended Leny Agustya, a fugitive wanted for human trafficking related to illegal migrant worker schemes in Cambodia. The arrest, based on Interpol Red Notice Control Nr. A-9748/6/2026, followed intelligence from NCB Interpol Cambodia. Agustya was placed on the Interpol Red Notice list on January 17, 2026, after allegedly attempting to smuggle two Indonesian citizens to work in online gambling operations in Cambodia.
