Cerro Porteño Thrashes Luqueño to Regain Confidence

Cerro Porteño achieved a much-needed 3-0 victory against Sportivo Luqueño on August 1, marking their first win in the Clausura tournament and restoring confidence after a difficult start. Playing at home in La Nueva Olla, the team, managed by Ariel Holan, was effective in front of goal, converting their chances despite not displaying a particularly brilliant performance.

The breakthrough came early in the match. In the seventh minute, Jorge Morel opened the scoring with a header that was confirmed by VAR after a scramble in the penalty area.
