Mexico's Carolina Flores Wins Mountain Biking Gold at Central American Games

Carolina Flores of Mexico has clinched the gold medal in mountain biking at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. The victory came after a demanding race where Flores demonstrated exceptional skill and endurance.

Flores navigated the 4.1-kilometer circuit, completing six laps for a total distance of 24.6 kilometers. Her winning time was recorded at 1 hour, 24 minutes, and 42 seconds. Throughout the race, she maintained an impressive average speed of 16.8 kilometers per hour, outpacing her competitors on the challenging course located in Santiago de los Caballeros.

The silver medal was awarded to Suhely Rodríguez of Puerto Rico, who put up a strong challenge to Flores. Rodríguez crossed the finish line just 44 seconds after the gold medalist, with a time of 1:25:26 and an average speed of 16.7 kilometers per hour.

Rounding out the podium, Ana Roa from Colombia secured the bronze medal. Roa completed the course in 1:26:53, adding another medal to her country's tally in the cycling events.
