China's Tech Priorities Revealed in Beijing's Summer Retreat Guest List

China's central government has invited dozens of leading scientific, technological, and academic experts to its annual summer retreat in Beidaihe, signaling a strong national focus on innovation and breaking through technological bottlenecks. The Communist Party’s Central Committee and the State Council, China’s cabinet, extended invitations to 60 experts for the event held from August 1 to 7.

The guest list, which includes specialists from various cutting-edge fields, highlights Beijing's strategic priorities amid intensifying competition with the United States.
