Como 1907 Shock Napoli 2-1 at Home as Emil Audero Starts on the Bench

Como 1907 produced an unexpected 2-1 victory over Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, taking all three points from a fiercely contested Serie A match.

Martin Baturina opened the scoring in the 17th minute after receiving a cutback from Assane Diao inside the penalty area. Baturina turned and struck with his right foot beyond goalkeeper Alex Meret.

Napoli responded in the 30th minute when Rasmus Hojlund sent a low left-footed shot from the edge of the box past Jean Butez. Como restored its lead four minutes later after a serious defensive error, with Greek forward Anastasios Douvikas calmly finishing with his right foot.

Napoli pressed for an equaliser after the break and appeared to score in stoppage time through Stanislav Lobotka. The referee ruled out the goal, however, after judging that David Neres had fouled Alex Valle during the move. Como held on for the 2-1 win.

The victory lifted Como to fourth place with four points. Napoli dropped to ninth with three points from two matches and suffered its first defeat of the campaign. Indonesia international goalkeeper Emil Audero Mulyadi did not start, with Cesc Fabregas selecting Jean Butez, who delivered a solid performance.
