Cyber HUFS partners with Goryeo-in Global Network to support education for ethnic Koreans

In a significant move to bolster educational opportunities for the ethnic Korean community, Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) has partnered with the Goryeo-in Global Network. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signifies a shared commitment to enhancing educational support for Goryeo-in compatriots residing in South Korea, a community with deep historical ties to the nation.

The collaboration is strategically designed to broaden access to essential learning resources. Key objectives include strengthening Korean language education programs and expanding the availability of online higher education tailored to the needs of the Goryeo-in population. This initiative recognizes the importance of linguistic and academic integration for the community's successful settlement and advancement within South Korean society.

Cyber HUFS plans to leverage its strengths in online education by offering specialized programs, including "micro-degrees." These intensive courses will not only focus on Korean language proficiency but also on vocational skills crucial for employment, such as legal and medical interpretation. By providing these targeted educational pathways, the university aims to equip Goryeo-in youth with the necessary qualifications for stable careers and further academic pursuits, fostering their overall well-being and contribution to society.
