Authorities in Da Nang have cracked down on a criminal operation involving foreign nationals, arresting two Chinese citizens on serious charges of illegal detention and robbery. The swift action by the police followed a distressing report from a Chinese national who claimed to be a victim of kidnapping and assault within the city.

After a supposed dinner, Ding Lei was taken to a hotel room and then to a remote area where he was beaten and threatened. The perpetrators then moved him to a warehouse, continuing the physical and psychological torment.

In a further act of coercion, the victim was reportedly forced to use a loan application to transfer a significant sum of money and hand over other valuables. This brazen criminal activity, occurring during a holiday period, prompted an urgent response from the Da Nang police, who mobilized task forces to pursue the suspects.
