DAP Directs Machinery to Prepare for Snap Elections in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor

The Democratic Action Party (DAP) has issued a directive for its entire party machinery to be on standby for potential snap elections in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor. This proactive measure comes in response to the evolving political landscape and the possibility of state legislative assemblies being dissolved in the near future.

The decision, stemming from the DAP's Central Executive Committee (CEC) monthly meeting, underscores the party's readiness to face any electoral outcome. In Negeri Sembilan, DAP has unequivocally stated its continued support for Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as the Menteri Besar, emphasizing respect for the constitutional monarchy and the Adat Perpatih traditions. This stance aligns with the decree from the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, for the state government to continue its functions under the current administration.

DAP's Secretary-General, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, reiterated that the party opposes any leadership changes at this juncture, especially after recent attempts to destabilize the existing unity government failed. The party's focus remains on preparedness and maintaining political stability within the coalition framework.

This strategic positioning by DAP highlights its commitment to its coalition partners and its readiness to mobilize its resources should elections be called.
