Dhaka Police on Maximum Alert Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

As the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Azha approaches, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is stepping up its efforts to ensure public safety and maintain order across the capital. Acting DMP Commissioner Md Sarwar has issued clear directives to all police officials, emphasizing the need for maximum vigilance. The commissioner specifically highlighted key areas of concern, including the apprehension of counterfeit currency rings and muggers, who often exploit periods of increased public activity. Furthermore, traffic management is a priority, with instructions given to traffic police to prevent cattle markets from causing significant disruptions and congestion. This proactive approach aims to facilitate smooth movement for commuters and shoppers alike as they prepare for Eid festivities.

Security measures are being bolstered at all major transportation hubs, such as launch terminals, bus terminals, and railway stations, to manage the anticipated surge in travel. Foot patrols throughout the city will also be intensified to deter criminal activity and provide a visible police presence. Police stations have been tasked with conducting targeted operations to recover illegal drugs and arrest individuals with outstanding warrants, reinforcing the commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against crime.
