Man Shot Dead, Girl Injured in Chattogram Attack

Tragedy struck in Chattogram's Rowfabad area as a young man was killed and a child injured in a brazen shooting incident late Thursday night. The victim, identified as Hasan alias Raju, 24, was targeted by armed assailants who opened fire, leaving him dead at the scene.

Raju came to Rowfabad from Raozan on May 3 to visit his sister. Around 9:15pm on Thursday, armed miscreants opened fire on Raju, leaving him dead on the spot.

Adding to the distress, an 11-year-old girl, Reshmi Akter, sustained bullet injuries to her eyes and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. The incident occurred in Shaheed Minar Goli, a location that has now become the scene of a violent crime that has sent ripples of fear through the local community.

Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack. Preliminary investigations are exploring possible connections to a recent spate of shootings in the Raozan upazila, which has seen a disturbing number of fatalities over the past 22 months.
