DPP Tainan Chapter Organizes Blood Drive to Support Local Blood Banks

The Democratic Progressive Party's Tainan City Chapter is set to host a blood donation drive on August 15 at the Nanying Green Heart Park Xinying Blood Donation Center. The event, titled "Passionate Blood Loves Taiwan, Donate Blood Loves Tainan," is a response to a call from party chairman Lai Ching-te to encourage citizens to donate blood and support the nation's blood supply.

Lin Chih-chan, chairman of the Tainan City Chapter, along with mayoral candidate Chen Ting-fei and several city councilors, announced the event. Chen Ting-fei urged the public to participate, emphasizing the dual purpose of supporting Taiwan's blood reserves and showing love for Tainan through their donations.

This initiative follows a successful blood drive held by the party two years prior. Lin Chih-chan detailed the incentives for donors: those who give 250cc will receive two 100-NT dollar PxMart gift certificates, while 500cc donors will receive four. Additional gifts include free-range eggs, dried mangoes, fish balls, and Taiwanese snacks. A refreshment area will offer popcorn, ice pops, and egg rolls to help donors regain their strength.

Lin described blood donation as a simple yet profoundly meaningful act of public service. He highlighted that a single bag of blood can offer critical hope to patients awaiting treatment. The party hopes to mobilize more Tainan residents to donate, ensuring a continuous supply of blood and extending a "full of love" gesture to the city.
