Philanthropist donates third accessible transport vehicle in parents' name

Wu Yaohua has donated a third accessible transport vehicle to New Taipei City, continuing a tradition of philanthropy in her parents' name. Her parents, Wu Yongquan and Du Yunzhu, received significant support from the city's assistive device center and long-term care services.

Wu Yaohua explained that her father instilled in his children the importance of repaying kindness. Inspired by this, she has dedicated herself to charitable acts. Her mother suffered from atypical Parkinson's disease for over a decade, with her father providing care. After her mother's passing, her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and received a disability certificate.

The family utilized various assistive devices, assessed by the center's professionals, and used accessible transport vehicles. These services deeply moved Wu Yaohua, prompting her desire to give back. Her first donation was in 2020, accompanied by her father. After his death, she donated the second vehicle in 2024, and now the third, all in her parents' names.

She hopes to extend the love she received from her family into a force that cares for society, assisting more citizens with mobility challenges to receive medical treatment and travel safely, thereby fostering a cycle of kindness.
