Ecuador announces friendly tournament in Japan amid search for new coach

Ecuador's national football team, "La Tri," is set to compete in a friendly tournament in Japan from October 1 to 5. The team will face the host nation, Japan, on October 1 at the Yokohama International Stadium. Depending on the results of the first matchday, Ecuador will then play either Panama or New Zealand on October 5 at the National Stadium in Tokyo.

This tournament forms part of Ecuador's preparations for the 2030 World Cup qualifiers. The team has another friendly scheduled for September 24 against South Korea at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. These matches are crucial for team cohesion and tactical development as they look ahead to the demanding qualification campaign.

The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) is simultaneously conducting a search for a new head coach. The contract of the previous coach, Sebastián Beccacece, concluded after Ecuador's participation in the recent World Cup held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The FEF aims to appoint a replacement before the team's Asian tour.
