Sevilla transfers Juanlu Sánchez to English club Bournemouth

Sevilla FC has reached an agreement with English club Bournemouth for the transfer of right-back Juanlu Sánchez. The transfer marks the end of Sánchez's decade-long tenure with the Seville-based club, where he rose through the youth ranks. The player, who is nearing his 23rd birthday, will begin a new chapter in his career in England.

Sánchez joined Sevilla's academy at the age of 12 and showed early promise, eventually earning call-ups to train with the first team under manager Julen Lopetegui. He was part of the squad that qualified for the Champions League and won the Europa League in 2020. After a loan spell at Mirandés, where he played 38 games and scored two goals, he returned to Sevilla to become a regular in the first team for the last three seasons.

During his time at Sevilla, Sánchez made 109 official appearances, scoring six goals and providing eleven assists. He ranks among the top six academy graduates with the most appearances for the club in the 21st century. He has also been a consistent member of Spain's youth national teams, from the U-16 level upwards. Notably, he won a gold medal with the Spanish Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Games and has twelve caps for the U-21 team.
