Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek conferred Datuk Seri title in Melaka awards ceremony

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek has been conferred the honorific title of Datuk Seri, leading a list of 1,328 individuals who received state awards, decorations, stars, and medals from Melaka. The conferment took place during the 77th birthday celebration of the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Mohd. Ali Mohd. Rustam.

Fadhlina was among 10 recipients of the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), the highest award that carries the Datuk Seri title. The ceremony was held at Seri Negeri, Ayer Keroh. The State Secretary, Datuk Salhah Salleh, announced that other recipients of the DGSM included the Chief Judge of Malaya, Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, and the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohd. Khalid Ismail.

Also receiving the prestigious award were the Chief of Air Force, General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris; Petronas Downstream President and CEO, Datuk Seri Sazali Hamzah; and the President of the National Silat Federation of Malaysia (Pesaka) and Political Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Megat Zulkarnain Omardin. The State Secretary noted that 56 individuals were awarded the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which confers the title Datuk Wira.

Among the DCSM recipients were the State Assemblyman for Benut, Datuk Mohd. Sumali Reduan; Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Datuk M. Kumar; Director-General of the National Solid Waste Management Department, Datuk Dr. Mohd. Azhar Abd. Hamin; and the Melaka Police Chief, Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar. Additionally, 14 individuals received the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), carrying the title Datuk, including the Deputy Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, Datuk Al Hambra Juhar; High Court Judge, Datuk Suria Kumar Durairaj Johnson Paul; and Commander of the Third Malaysian Infantry Division, Major General Datuk Sani S. Omar.

In the category of Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which also carries the Datuk title, 189 individuals were honored. This group included the renowned singer Datuk Siti Roziana Zain, popularly known as Ziana Zain, as well as the Director-General of Broadcasting, Datuk Ashwad Ismail, and the Group Editor of News and Television Network (News and Current Affairs Group), Datuk Azhari Muhidin. In total, 1,328 recipients were honored across three sessions on August 24 and 26, with awards also distributed to 5 Jaksa Pendamai, 106 recipients of Darjah Seri Melaka (DSM), 151 of Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM), 244 of Bintang Khidmat Terpuji, 386 of Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), 161 of Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM), and five of Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL).
