Ex-NASENI boss joins Nasarawa governorship race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State is gearing up for the 2027 governorship race, with former NASENI Chief Executive Officer, Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna, officially entering the contest. Haruna’s declaration, marked by the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms, signals a significant move in the state's political landscape.

Haruna, a figure with a background in science, engineering, and public service, articulated a vision centered on accelerating the state's growth. His platform emphasizes key areas such as education, agriculture, infrastructure, health, and youth empowerment. He believes his extensive experience in technology and development planning uniquely positions him to drive progress in Nasarawa.

I have the capacity, and I am qualified to govern the state. I have done a lot for the state during my time in public office; the records are there, visible and verifiable. With the experiences I have gathered over the years, I am confident of bringing speedy development to the state if I am elected into office as governor in 2027.

Speaking to journalists after meeting with local government and ward coordinators, Haruna conveyed strong optimism about securing the APC's gubernatorial ticket. He highlighted his past achievements, stating that his records in public office are visible and verifiable. The aspirant also underscored the importance of peace and unity, promising to focus on empowering youths and women should he receive the mandate to govern.

The aspirant's ambition has garnered support from various local groups and coordinators, who have pledged their commitment to his campaign. The conferral of the honorary Eggon name "ATARI," meaning victory, by coordinators in Nasarawa Eggon LGA, further signifies local endorsement and enthusiasm for his candidacy.
