Family grateful for increased jail sentence for domestic abuser

In Seremban, the family of Jahidah Nordin, a victim of severe domestic abuse, has expressed profound gratitude following the Court of Appeal's decision to increase her ex-husband Rosmaini Abd. Raof's prison sentence. The sentence has been extended from 10 to 14 years, a move that brings a measure of relief to Jahidah's sister, Fauziah Nordin.

If he has the money and can pay, we will use it to raise Eshan Nufail. However, if he doesn't pay, that's even better because his jail sentence will increase.

Fauziah conveyed that while the RM25,000 compensation ordered by the court is a pittance compared to her sister's suffering – Jahidah is now bedridden – the extended jail term is the primary concern. "If he has the money and can pay, we will use it to raise Eshan Nufail. However, if he doesn't pay, that's even better because his jail sentence will increase," she stated, highlighting the family's focus on ensuring the perpetrator remains incarcerated.
