Fau Zaldívar Dominates Rally del Guairá, Claims Victory

World rally pilot Fau Zaldívar proved unstoppable at the 24th Rally del Guairá, securing victory in his return to the CNR and FIA/Codasur circuits. The three-time South American champion solidified his dominance throughout the event, which served as the fourth round of the National Rally Championship (CNR) and the third round of the South American Rally Championship.

Zaldívar, navigating with co-driver Marcelo der Ohannesian in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, established a commanding lead on the first day by winning four of the six special stages. He continued his strong performance on the second and final day, winning three of the five stages to extend his overall lead to just over a minute.

Behind Zaldívar, the battle for second place was fierce between Alejandro Galanti and Migue Zaldívar. Galanti, also in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, finished second overall, 1 minute and 3.8 seconds behind the winner. Migue Zaldívar, driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, secured third place, a mere 6.4 seconds behind his teammate Galanti, narrowly missing a 1-2 finish for their team.

In the F2 category (two-wheel drive), Brazilian duo Luis Stedile and Murilo Spironelo, piloting a Peugeot 208 Rally4, claimed provisional victory in the CO4 class of the South American championship. They finished just 56 seconds ahead of Iván Wasmosy and Gonzalo Díaz, who won the overall and RC4A national titles. Diego Cruz Escobar and Ramiro Ayala completed the F2 podium for the FIA/Codasur rally.
