FBC gears up for biggest-ever schools rugby broadcast

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) is set to deliver its most extensive schools rugby coverage ever this Saturday, broadcasting all semi-final matches of the Vodafone Super Deans and Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy competitions live.

In a significant production undertaking, FBC will deploy three dedicated outside broadcast teams. These teams will cover all 16 semi-final fixtures simultaneously across HFC Bank Stadium, Churchill Park, and Buckhurst Park. This ensures supporters, parents, and former students can follow every moment of the competition, regardless of their location.

Fans worldwide can access the live action through FBC’s pay-per-view streaming platform, Viti Plus, and Vodafone Play. Delayed coverage will also be available on the FBC Sports channel. Live broadcasts commence at 8:25 am from Suva and Lautoka, with the first match at Buckhurst Park starting at 9 am.

FBC General Manager Television Sitiveni Halofaki described the operation as a major milestone for both the broadcaster and sports coverage in Fiji. Halofaki emphasized FBC's commitment to high-quality local sports coverage, enabling supporters globally to follow the action. "We are proud to bring every moment of the Deans and Raluve semi-finals to grassroots supporters and international viewers with high-quality production standards," he added. The broadcast schedule also includes the Vodafone Fijiana XV’s international Test match against South Africa, promising one of the biggest rugby coverage days ever undertaken by the broadcaster.
