Fiji approves traffic and parking upgrades for four municipalities

The Fijian government has given the green light to a series of traffic and parking enhancements across four key municipalities: Labasa, Nadi, Tavua, and Savusavu. Cabinet has officially endorsed amendments to existing traffic and parking regulations for Labasa, Nadi, and Tavua, while also introducing new Parking Meter Regulations specifically for Savusavu.

The approved measures encompass a range of improvements designed to modernize urban mobility. These include the expansion of metered parking zones, the implementation of strategies to improve overall traffic flow, and arrangements to enhance public transportation services. A significant upgrade involves the introduction of modern electronic parking meters, which will replace the older, less efficient systems currently in place.

Government officials state that these new regulations are anticipated to yield several positive outcomes. They are expected to significantly improve parking management within these towns, thereby easing traffic congestion. Furthermore, the changes are intended to provide better support for local businesses by making parking more accessible and efficient.
