Fiji plans new support pathways for children leaving residential care

Fiji is strengthening its support systems for children and vulnerable adults in residential care, with a focus on improving services and creating better opportunities for young people preparing to leave these facilities. Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran has emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing these crucial pathways.

During a visit to St Christopher’s Home and Dilkusha Home, Kiran engaged with carers to understand their needs and discuss strategies for improvement. The discussions centered on the specific challenges faced by young people as they transition from residential care to independent living.
