The blaze, which erupted shortly after 9 a.m., engulfed a wholesale store on the eastern side of the sprawling complex, threatening numerous businesses and the livelihoods of hundreds of employees.

Acting Deputy Chief Fire Officer Ansar Ali confirmed that the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) deployed approximately 35 firefighters, five fire tenders, and a Bronto Skylift appliance. Their swift actions were crucial in containing the fire to the eastern section of the building, preventing its spread to adjacent businesses, including a foam factory. The support from the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) ensured an adequate water supply, a critical factor in battling such a large-scale incident.
