Fire Engulfs Tamaulipas Home, Six Family Members Injured

A devastating fire engulfed a family's home in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, early Monday morning, resulting in injuries to six family members. Among the injured were three minors aged 16, 12, and 3 years old. The severity of the burns sustained by a 33-year-old woman necessitated her transfer via helicopter to the Hospital de Especialidades in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The fire, which consumed the residence on Zeferino Fajardo Luna street in the Miguel Alemán neighborhood, is believed to have originated from a gas accumulation. Another version circulating at the scene suggests a short circuit may have sparked the blaze. The family affected included a retired teacher, her daughter, her son-in-law, and the three children.

Eyewitnesses reported that neighbors bravely entered the burning structure to rescue the family members. One of the youngest children, critically injured, was transported to a local hospital by motorcycle. Firefighters and state police also assisted in the rescue and transfer of four individuals to the IMSS General Hospital for urgent medical attention. Some residents in the area expressed concerns about the response time of emergency services, noting delays in ambulance arrivals and the limited equipment available to municipal Civil Protection elements.
