Former Malang Police Chief Ferli Hidayat Appointed Coordinator of Personal Staff for Indonesian Police Leadership

Komisaris Besar Ferli Hidayat has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the Personal Staff of the Indonesian National Police Leadership (Koorspripim Polri). His transfer is detailed in a Telegram Letter ST/1585/VII/KEP./2026, dated July 30, 2026.

The Koorspripim Polri functions as the primary staff leadership for the top police officials, operating under the National Police Chief (Kapolri) and reporting to them. In daily operations, this role is under the command of the Deputy National Police Chief (Wakapolri). Essentially, the Koorspripim acts as the administrative and operational "right hand" for the Kapolri and Wakapolri.

According to the National Police Regulation (Perkap) Number 6 of 2017, the main duties of the Koorspripim include providing personal staff services, secretarial support, protocol management, and first-level physical security to ensure the smooth execution of tasks by the Kapolri and Wakapolri. They are also responsible for leading, developing, supervising, and controlling organizational units within the Spripim Polri. Furthermore, they are authorized to offer advice and carry out other duties as instructed by the Kapolri.

Notably, Ferli Hidayat was previously removed from his position as the Malang Police Chief four years ago. This decision followed the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy, where 125 people died and hundreds were injured after a football match on October 1, 2022. At that time, Kadiv Humas Polri, Irjen Dedi Prasetyo, announced Ferli's non-active status and transfer to Pamen SSDM Polri, replaced by AKBP Putu Kholis Arya.
