Four Western Zone teams reach Fiji U-18 rugby quarterfinals for first time

For the first time in the history of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union, four teams from the Western Zone will compete in the Vodafone Deans Under 18 national quarterfinals. Ba Provincial Freebird Institute, Cuvu College, Ratu Navula College, and Ra High School have all secured their places among the top eight teams after successful elimination round victories.

Cuvu College dominated Saint Johns College with a 55-7 win, while Ratu Navula College defeated hosts Shri Guru Nanak Khalsa College 27-13. Ra High School secured a decisive 42-8 victory over Navatu Secondary School. Ba Provincial Freebird Institute drew 29-all with Queen Victoria School but advanced due to scoring the first try.

In other Under 18 elimination matches, defending champions Ratu Kadavulevu School crushed Ratu Sukuna Memorial School 43-14. Nasinu Secondary School narrowly beat Holy Cross College 21-20, and Suva Grammar School displayed strong performance to overcome Ratu Luke Secondary School 50-6. Lelean Memorial School maintained its undefeated streak with a 26-7 win against Marist Brothers High School. The national quarterfinals are scheduled for next Saturday.
