From the Synoptician – Wonderful News: We Haven't Had Such Warm Days in a Long Time

Good news for weather watchers! After a prolonged period of cooler temperatures, Lithuania is finally set to bask in the warmth of a more summery climate. Meteorologist Elvyra Latvėnaitė shared promising forecasts, indicating that the country will soon experience days with temperatures we haven't seen in quite some time.

While Thursday night might still bring some frost, especially in low-lying areas, the shift begins on Friday. A warm atmospheric front associated with a cyclone will bring milder temperatures, particularly to the western and northwestern parts of the country. This marks the beginning of a significant warming trend that will define the upcoming weekend and the start of the following week.

The forecast for Saturday and Sunday, as well as Monday, points towards almost summer-like warmth. While the westernmost regions and the coast might remain slightly cooler, much of Lithuania can expect pleasant daytime temperatures. There's also a possibility of short, summer-style rain showers, and even thunderstorms in some areas early next week, adding to the seasonal feel.

This change is a welcome relief and a sign that spring is truly taking hold. Baltiją ir Lietuvą pasiekė sausesnio, ramesnio anticiklono, vardu Winfried vėsiausia šiaurės rytinė dalis, tad ketvirtadienio naktis bus dar daug kur šaltoka, su šalnomis ne tik dirvos paviršiuje (5 cm aukštyje), bet ir ore (2 m aukštyje). Ketvirtadienio dieną iš šiaurės, šiaurės rytų mus trumpam pasieks ciklono slėnis su šiltuoju atmosferos frontu. Šiek tiek kritulių, daugiausia nedidelio lietučio sulauksim. Diena bus dar vėsoka, ypač šiaurės rytiniai, rytiniai rajonai, bet vakarinę, šiaurės vakarinę pusę popietę jau kiek didesnė šiluma pasieks. Penktadienio naktis dar vėsoka, nedidelės šalnos gali tik vakariniuose, šiaurės vakariniuose rajonuose būti. Nuo penktadienio dienos jau vis labiau šils, savaitgalis ir kitos savaitės pradžia bus beveik vasariškai šiltos, tik vakariniame pakraštuke ir pajūryje dažniausia bus vėsiausia. Jau sekmadienį vakare šiaurės vakaruose, šiaurėje gali trumpai palyti, o kitos savaitės pradžioje trumpi, vasariški lietūs, kartais su perkūnijomis, jau daug kur galimi. Pagal dabartinius duomenis kitos savaitės vidurys turėtų būti lietingesnis, bet dar šiltas, o savaitės pabaigoje vėl gali atvėsti
