GIK Builds 6,500 Apartments in Bishkek with High Seismic Resistance

24.kg reports on a significant development in Bishkek's housing sector: the State Mortgage Company's (GIK) ambitious "Yntymak" residential complex. This project, situated on Baytik Baatyr Street, is not just another housing development; it represents a commitment to quality, safety, and modern urban living in Kyrgyzstan.

With over 30 of its planned 43 blocks already under construction, "Yntymak" will offer around 6,500 apartments, ranging from one to four bedrooms. The emphasis is on delivering a "turnkey" product, with completion slated for October 2026. Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services, Nurdin Oruntayev, highlights the complex's premium status, noting the use of advanced frame technology and materials, including Russian rebar, to ensure a seismic resistance of up to 8 magnitude.

This project serves as a powerful demonstration that state-led initiatives can indeed deliver high-quality construction. Oruntayev stated, "With this example, we show that the state can also build with quality." The involvement of multiple contractors, such as "Amanat Stroy," alongside rigorous quality control measures, including a mobile laboratory operating on-site, underscores this commitment.

Beyond the residential units, the "Yntymak" complex is designed to be a self-sufficient community. A school for 1,200 students is being built nearby, and commercial spaces are planned for the ground floors, with possibilities for kindergartens. GIK's role extends beyond social programs; it is actively developing the affordable housing market. As Oruntayev emphasized, "The State Mortgage Company must be financially stable and develop new construction formats."
