Hael Husaini persuades me to 'comeback' every year, offers to write songs, says Azhar

Singer Azhar Osman has disclosed that his former musical partner, Hael Husaini, has persistently urged him to make a comeback in the Malaysian music scene for the past four years. Husaini, known for his hit song "Jampi," has consistently offered new projects, including composing a special song and inviting Osman to join his upcoming solo album.

I'm not sulking with the industry or fighting with Hael. We are still in close contact until now. It's just that after Azhael separated, Hael focused on his art career, while I spent my time completing my degree before venturing into medicine.

Osman, 38, clarified that his absence from the industry is not due to any conflict with Husaini or the industry itself. The two remain close, but after their duo "Azhael" disbanded, Husaini focused on his solo career while Osman pursued a degree and ventured into medicine. "Hael knows this secret of mine. Every time I'm about to perform, my voice trembles. This affects the technical aspects of singing, causing me stress and loss of confidence," Osman explained.

Despite Husaini's efforts to help him manage his anxiety, including suggesting warm-up jogs before performances, Osman's debilitating stage fright remains a significant barrier. This anxiety has led him to prefer working behind the scenes. While he still sings in his car and occasionally posts cover songs on Instagram, he prefers group or duo settings.

Every year Hael never tires of inviting and persuading me to sing again. He also always says he wants to produce a song for me. This has been going on for almost four years.

Osman currently leads acapella groups Define and Awesome Pella. He expressed no envy towards Husaini's success, stating instead that he is proud of his former partner's achievements. "There's no sense of challenge or anything. I'm very proud of him. Hael knows my abilities, and I know his strengths. That's why he still wants to collaborate with me," Osman said, adding that he hopes to release a song with Husaini before he turns 40.

Azhael, formed by Mohd Azhar Osman and Hael Husaini, gained prominence after participating in the Akademi Fantasia 2013 competition and released several popular songs before parting ways in 2017. Hael had then confirmed their separation was not due to disagreements but rather to pursue individual career paths.
