Heatwave? Endure a little longer, Advent begins November 28, these are the locations

Zagreb is gearing up for its popular Advent Christmas market, with the second round of applications for vendors now open. The festive event is set to officially commence on Saturday, November 28, 2026, and will continue through January 7, 2027. Preparations are being coordinated by the City of Zagreb, the Zagreb Tourist Board, and the Public Institution Nature of the City of Zagreb. As in previous years, locations will have the opportunity to operate a few days before the official opening, with a "warm-up" period planned from November 25 to 27 to allow exhibitors to set up.

Vendors for stalls will be selected through public bidding and a scoring system based on set criteria, while catering service locations will be awarded solely through public bidding. Applications for the second round are due by August 26. Available locations in the city center include Strossmayerovo šetalište (east and west) and Plato Gradec. Numerous locations are also available in various city districts, including Trešnjevka, Stenjevec, Podsused–Vrapče, Gornja Dubrava, Sesvete, Novi Zagreb, Podsljeme, and Brezovica. The selection for these locations will be based on the best-evaluated overall program of the manifestation.

Prime locations such as Ban Jelačić Square, Gajeva Street, and Bogovićeva Street are reserved for mobile stands for seasonal sales and catering. These will be allocated through public bidding, selecting the most favorable offers and highest scores according to prescribed criteria, with applications also due by August 26. Those interested can apply for support from the Zagreb Tourist Board after obtaining permission for public space usage.
