Hongcheon Wildfire Extinguished in 30 Minutes

A wildfire that ignited in the mountainous terrain of Hwajeon-ri, Nam-myeon, Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, was swiftly brought under control on the afternoon of the 8th. The blaze, which began around 4:44 PM, was successfully extinguished in approximately 30 minutes, thanks to a rapid and coordinated response.

Forestry and fire authorities mobilized a significant force, comprising 76 personnel, three helicopters, and four fire engines, among other equipment. This swift deployment was crucial in containing the fire before it could spread further into the surrounding natural landscape.

While the immediate threat has been neutralized, the relevant authorities are now undertaking a thorough investigation to determine the precise cause of the fire and to assess the full extent of the damage.
