Immigration Service targets professional excellence with new Airport training series

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is prioritizing professional excellence with the introduction of a new training program for its airport personnel. The initiative kicked off with a two-week capacity-building course for staff stationed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Command in Abuja.

This inaugural training session is the first in a planned series designed to elevate standards across all NIS airport formations throughout the country. The program aims to equip immigration officers with advanced skills and knowledge necessary for efficient and effective border management in a modern aviation environment.

Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, confirmed the conclusion of the training. The NIS emphasizes that this series is a strategic move to ensure its personnel are well-prepared to handle the complexities of airport operations, thereby enhancing national security and facilitating smoother travel experiences for passengers.
