Indonesia Investigates Bali Event, Bans Dutch Organizers

Indonesian immigration authorities are probing a Bali running event that reportedly excluded local participants, suspecting foreign organizers.

The Directorate General of Immigration has instructed the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to summon all parties involved in the Bali Silent Disco event, including organizers and sponsors. The probe stems from suspicions that the event was orchestrated by two Dutch nationals.

Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko stated that if a foreign entity organized the event, it would be an illegal act under Indonesian immigration law. Evidence suggests the event was organized by Entourage Bali, with two Dutch nationals, JAS (35) and HQV (37), identified as being in charge. Both individuals, holding ITAS permits for employment and investment respectively, have already left Indonesia and are now banned from re-entry.

Both foreign nationals are confirmed to have left Indonesia on Wednesday, July 23, 2026. Therefore, we imposed an entry ban, and both individuals are no longer permitted to re-enter Indonesia.

Marantoko emphasized that foreign nationals are prohibited from organizing or promoting events in Indonesia, with their involvement limited to official crew or team members for international performers. The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office is also questioning the corporate sponsors and guarantors of the Dutch nationals, PT SIG, to ascertain their activities and compliance with permit conditions.
