Indonesian Islamic Congress urged to push for impartial law enforcement

The Advisory Board of the Indonesian Ulama Council (Wantim MUI) is pushing for the Indonesian Islamic Congress (KUII) VIII to generate strategic recommendations that will strengthen fair and impartial law enforcement. Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi, the secretary of Wantim MUI, emphasized the critical role of equitable law enforcement in achieving widespread prosperity.

He argued that effective law enforcement and efficient budgeting are prerequisites for ensuring that national wealth is distributed justly among all citizens.

The council expressed its high appreciation for the government under President Prabowo Subianto's leadership, commending its commitment and decisiveness in enforcing the law and combating corruption for the prosperity of the Indonesian people. Sa'adi highlighted that the synergy between ulama (religious scholars), umara (leaders), and all societal elements is the primary asset for realizing the congress's theme, "United Ummah, Sovereign Nation, Strong State," and for guiding Indonesia toward its "Golden Indonesia 2045" aspirations.

Law enforcement and budget efficiency are absolute requirements for national wealth to be distributed fairly through economic consolidation and Sharia strength, food security, and also energy security, as well as MSME empowerment, and the distribution of zakat, waqf, infak, and sedekah.

Sa'adi also noted the significance of KUII VIII, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of MUI's service to the community and the nation. He reiterated MUI's consistent roles as Khadimul Ummah (servant of the people) and Shadiqul Hukumah (strategic partner of the government). The congress also aims to address strategic agendas such as strengthening national economic sovereignty through the implementation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, ensuring Indonesia's natural resources are managed for the people's welfare, and bolstering the Islamic economy, food security, energy resilience, MSME empowerment, and the distribution of zakat, waqf, infak, and sedekah.
