Iran Warns US: Hormuz Ship Rescue Plan is 'Ceasefire Violation'

Tehran – Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any American intervention in the Strait of Hormuz will be interpreted as a breach of the ceasefire. This strong stance was articulated by Ebrahim Azizi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Any US interference in the new maritime order of the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire.

The declaration directly responds to US President Donald Trump's announcement of 'Project Freedom,' a plan designed to assist ships facing difficulties in the vital waterway. Trump stated that the US would help nations whose ships are trapped in the Strait of Hormuz, promising to ensure their safe passage. However, Iran views these actions not as assistance, but as an aggressive attempt to impose a new maritime order and interfere in the region's sensitive affairs.

For the sake of Iran, the Middle East, and America's interests, we have promised these countries that we will help their ships safely exit the strait.
