Israeli Attacks in Lebanon Kill 20 in 24 Hours

The Ministry of Health in Lebanon has reported a grim toll from ongoing Israeli aggression, with 20 lives lost in the past 24 hours alone. This brings the total number of fatalities since March 2 to a staggering 2,679, underscoring the devastating impact of the escalating conflict on the Lebanese population. In addition to the deaths, 46 individuals were wounded in the latest round of attacks, pushing the total number of injured to 8,229.

These attacks represent a severe breach of the temporary ceasefire that was brokered and extended by then-US President Donald Trump, initially announced on April 17 and prolonged until May 17. The Israeli military has intensified its air and ground operations in Lebanon significantly since the cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2. Official Lebanese figures indicate that these actions have displaced over 1.6 million people, creating a humanitarian crisis on top of the ongoing violence.

Even before the March 2 incident, Israel had been conducting near-daily strikes, violating previous ceasefire agreements from November 2024. The situation remains critical, with Lebanon bearing the brunt of a conflict that shows little sign of abating.
