İzmir: Operation targets drug manufacturing house, 2 arrested

In a significant blow to the drug trade in İzmir, law enforcement agencies have dismantled a sophisticated operation involving the cultivation and distribution of narcotics. Acting on intelligence, police forces, under the coordination of the Menemen Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, raided a residence that had been converted into a clandestine drug laboratory and sales point.

The operation, carried out by the Aliağa Narcotics Crimes Prevention Bureau and the Intelligence Branch Directorate, resulted in the seizure of 279 cannabis plants and 4.05 kilograms of cannabis-skunk. Additionally, materials used for cultivating cannabis, two rifles, and a precision scale were confiscated from the premises. This haul indicates a well-established operation aimed at large-scale production and supply.

Two suspects, identified as A.B. and T.F., were apprehended at the scene. Following their arrest and completion of legal procedures at the police station, they were brought before the court. The court ordered their pre-trial detention, signifying the seriousness of the charges against them. This successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of Turkish authorities to combatting drug-related crime and ensuring public safety within the region.
