Jalaluddin Alias Among Candidates for Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister

Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, chairman of the Negeri Sembilan UMNO liaison body, is being considered a potential candidate for Menteri Besar should the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition successfully form the state government after the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election.

If possible, the leaders of these two 'blue' groups should sit down and think about who we can announce.

However, PN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin stressed that a joint discussion between BN and PN is necessary to finalize the choice for Menteri Besar before it can be announced to the public. He acknowledged that determining the candidate for Negeri Sembilan presents some challenges but assured that PN would support whomever BN decides upon for the position.

This question (regarding PN proposing Jalaluddin as Menteri Besar candidate) is unfair to me because BN should also sit with us.

"If possible, the leaders of these two 'blue' groups should sit down and think about who we can announce," Hamzah stated at a press conference. He added that while PN knows who it would prefer, the decision rests on a mutual agreement with BN. Hamzah, who also leads the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), reiterated that PN defers to BN's leadership for the final announcement, expressing a collective desire for the candidate to emerge from BN.

We all want it to come from BN, so we leave it to the BN leadership to announce it.
