Jeju Police Deploy AI Drones to Combat Garlic Theft

In response to escalating concerns over agricultural theft during the crucial garlic harvest season, Jeju's self-governing police are deploying an innovative solution: AI-powered drones. This proactive measure, set to launch on May 1st in the Daejeong-eup area of Seogwipo City, will see drones equipped with thermal imaging technology patrol vulnerable farmlands throughout the night.

The decision comes after a noticeable increase in the value of agricultural products over the past three years, which has unfortunately correlated with a rise in theft.
