Man Arrested for Assaulting Postal Worker in Seoul

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and sent to prosecutors on charges of obstructing official duties and aggravated obstruction of official duties for assaulting a postal worker in Seoul.

The suspect, identified as Mr. A, allegedly knocked over the postal worker's motorcycle and physically assaulted him on April 21st in the Ujangsan Station intersection in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Mr. A claimed the postal worker cut him off while he was waiting at a signal.

During the altercation, Mr. A dragged the postal worker off his motorcycle, threw him to the ground, and engaged in a physical struggle, including grabbing him by the collar. The postal worker suffered injuries to his back and neck and is currently receiving treatment and psychological counseling.

Adding to the severity of the incident, Mr. A also attempted to evade arrest by hitting a police officer with his car and fleeing for approximately 2 kilometers. This act of violence against a public servant performing his duties has understandably led to swift legal action.
