Khairy's claim on Malay votes is just political opinion, says PH

Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, Communications Director for Pakatan Harapan (PH), has refuted claims made by Khairy Jamaluddin, the former UMNO Youth Chief. Jamaluddin had suggested that PH candidates secured only about 10% of the Malay vote in the Johor State Election. Fahmi countered that the political landscape in Negeri Sembilan is distinct from Johor, asserting that the state's populace is discerning and capable of evaluating the performance of the government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

"I believe the situation in Negeri Sembilan is very different," Fahmi told reporters. "I believe the people of Negeri Sembilan are wise and understand the success and capability of Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun's administration." He praised Aminuddin Harun for his service to all residents of Negeri Sembilan, regardless of ethnicity, stating, "Datuk Seri Aminuddin has served excellently, taking care of Malays, Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli, and all the people of Negeri Sembilan very well."

Fahmi characterized Jamaluddin's assertion as merely a "political view." He added that discussions regarding preparations for the 16th General Election (PRU16) have not yet begun at the government level. According to the constitution, PRU16 must be held by the end of next year. The current government's priority, as stated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, is addressing economic challenges stemming from conflicts in West Asia, focusing on stability and economic recovery rather than prolonged political campaigning or elections.
