Kogi PDP chair hails Supreme Court judgment

The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammed Gambo, has lauded the Supreme Court's recent judgment, which upheld the Court of Appeal's decision to invalidate the PDP's Ibadan convention. Gambo views this verdict as a clear indication that the PDP remains the preferred choice for Nigerians, asserting that the populace yearns for the party's return to power.

As we speak, our party remains the one to beat. Nigerians are yearning for the PDP. We showed what our party is made of when we were in power. Nigerians lived in prosperity then. The level of poverty Nigerians are experiencing today was unimaginable during the PDP era.

Speaking in the wake of the ruling, Gambo painted a nostalgic picture of Nigeria under PDP rule, emphasizing periods of prosperity and significantly lower levels of insecurity. He contrasted this with the current situation, suggesting that Nigerians now recognize the difference and are actively seeking the PDP's comeback. He urged party members, particularly those aggrieved by past events, to rally behind the new leadership to foster a stronger and more unified PDP.

Gambo also extended congratulations to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his efforts in safeguarding the party from external hijacking. He commended the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led National Executive, expressing confidence in their ability to steer the party towards victory in the 2027 general elections. The Kogi PDP chairman further praised the judiciary for its swift and fearless judgment, reaffirming its role as the ultimate recourse for the common man. He concluded by urging Kogites to register for the party's e-registration exercise and unite to reclaim leadership in the state from the APC in 2027.
