Supreme Court ruling leaves PDP without leadership, says Turaki camp

The Supreme Court's split decision on the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) national convention has thrown the party into a leadership crisis, according to Tanimu Turaki's camp. The apex court nullified the convention that produced the Turaki-led leadership, citing violations of court orders. This ruling effectively leaves the PDP rudderless, a situation the Turaki camp believes will be resolved by the party's internal organs stepping in to salvage the situation and appoint new leadership.

However, the minority judgments by Justices Haruna Tsammani and Abubakar Umar held that the two appeals emanate from matters which are internal affairs of the PDP and are, therefore, non-justiciable.
