Kyrgyzstan teachers to receive salary hike from April 28

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – Starting April 28, educators across Kyrgyzstan will finally see a significant boost in their paychecks, a move long overdue and warmly welcomed by the teaching community. The Ministry of Education confirmed that a 100% salary increase, effective from April 1, has been fully funded and distributed across all regions.

With 28 April, teachers in Kyrgyzstan will begin to receive increased salaries.

This substantial raise addresses long-standing concerns about the remuneration of teachers, who are the bedrock of our nation's future. Previously, a young teacher without experience in the city earned around 14,000 soms, but now they can expect to take home approximately 32,000 soms from a gross salary of about 39,000 soms. For our dedicated, experienced educators in remote mountain regions, who have served for over 30 years, their earnings will jump from roughly 65,000 soms to around 90,000 soms net, with a gross of 104,000 soms.

From April 1, the salary was increased by 100 percent.

It's important to note that the base rate remains a stable 7,400 soms, with various coefficients determining the final salary. Factors such as educational attainment, location, workload, experience, and additional responsibilities like class supervision and grading notebooks all contribute to the final figure. This tiered approach ensures that dedication and experience are appropriately recognized, reflecting the true value of our teachers' contributions to society. Calculations for the new salary conditions have been carried out, and funding has been sent to the regions.
