Lagos shuts Balmoral Centre, Foodies Restaurant over wastewater violations

Lagos State authorities have taken decisive action against the Balmoral Convention Centre and Foodies Restaurant, sealing both establishments for egregious violations of wastewater disposal regulations. This move underscores the state's commitment to environmental protection and public health.

The Balmoral Convention Centre was found to be indiscriminately discharging untreated sewage into public drains, utilizing a pumping machine to facilitate the illegal disposal. Such practices pose a significant threat to the environment and the well-being of citizens, potentially contaminating water sources and spreading diseases.

Foodies Restaurant also faced closure for similar wastewater violations. The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has been intensifying its monitoring and enforcement efforts to ensure compliance with environmental laws.
